Stocking Stuffers - December 19, 2018
Holiday Lesson Set - Lesson 07e
What will Santa put in your stocking this year?
Students receive a set of cards with items they were given in their Christmas stockings.
The other students in the group ask Yes / No Questions to identify what the items are.
When all of the items have been identified, students then trade their less wanted items for more desirable ones.
Although this lesson is very fun, there are a lot of fundamental elements of the English language being used including subject / verb agreement, singular vs. plural and count vs. non-countable nouns, articles, direct objects and possessive pronouns.

What Makes Our Lessons Different?
Teachers Save Time

Reduce lesson planning and gain freedom in the classroom. With all students busy, the teacher can casually roam around the classroom and offer assistance wherever needed.
Students Learn by Doing

Minutes after beginning each lesson, classes often become noisy. At times, very noisy. Why? Students, in pairs or small groups, actively engage in completing the lesson task. They use English to learn English.
Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing

Oral communication is important. Listening and speaking have priority in our lessons; students need to carefully listen to each other. Reading is also important for the success of the lessons. The amount of writing required varies.
Fun for Teachers & Students

We believe students learn better when having fun. Our lessons range from silly to serious but each has a solid task-specific educational goal including grammar usage, vocabulary building and fluency improvement to name a few.

Kurt,
I just wanted to say that I think that the lessons you have on your site are great. I have found that the lessons work well in class and my students really enjoy them.

Dear Kurt,
I have been teaching English in Latvia for 5 years now to such varied student groups as Music College, military and Bible College students. I came across your site about a year ago and it has been incredibly helpful in my teaching. I have found all of my students - from the highest ranking military officer to the most ordinary school-kid - enjoy your lessons. The worksheets and the ideas are fantastic! Thank you so much for making the English teacher’s work easier, more varied and much more enjoyable!!!

Dear Kurt,
Feel free to quote me on this! I have found your lessons to be the most useful of all that I have found on the Net! The teacher’s guidance makes presenting the lessons a doddle and the students’ pages are fun, varied, stimulating, exciting and always of interest to my students.
I am a freelance EFL teacher and the students vary from Austrian teenagers, on school trips to London, to adults at a language centre. Your lessons are especially useful for the latter group as I often get called upon to cover a class at the last minute!
Keep the lessons coming please, Kurt - and many, many thanks!
Toni
Dear Kurt,
I’d like to tell you that I find the activities wonderful. I teach young learners, adolescents, young adults, adults… and they work with all of them. All the lessons and worksheets are very creative and they foster my students’ motivation and participation.
Congratulations!!

Dear Kurt,
Your EFL4U activities are honestly among the very best that I’ve discovered on the web. They are consistently imaginative, high quality and engaging. The students are motivated and the classes are lively.
